SPX and 17 Sport launch global Purpose League
Toronto, Canada – November 13, 2025 – SponsorshipX (SPX) and 17 Sport today announced the launch of the SPX Purpose League powered by 17 Sport, a new global community redefining how sponsorship delivers impact and long-term value.
Unveiled at the opening of the SponsorshipX Changemakers Summit in Toronto, the SPX Purpose League will bring together brands, agencies, and rights holders committed to redefining how sponsorship creates engagement, value and impact. At its core, it’s built on the idea that purpose is not a trend, but the foundation of sustainable success in a rapidly changing world.
The launch comes at a pivotal moment for global sport, with the FIFA Men’s World Cup 2026 and LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games fast approaching. The next cycle of mega-events will test not only how sport entertains, but how it builds resilience, delivers business outcomes, and strengthens the communities that sustain it.
Neill Duffy, CEO and Co-Founder at 17 Sport said: “Sport is at an inflection point. If we keep treating sponsorship as a ‘reach and rights’ exercise, we will miss the bigger opportunity. The next era of growth will belong to organisations that use partnerships to drive both impact and performance. The SPX Purpose League is about supporting our industry and helping sponsorship evolve from a transactional model to one that builds resilience.”
The SPX Purpose League will act as a collaborative learning community, providing access to content, conversations, and events that explore how purpose can enhance commercial returns, strengthen stakeholder trust, and create long-term value for business and society.
Mark Harrison, Founder of SponsorshipX, said: “Sponsorship professionals are rethinking what success looks like. Purpose-driven partnerships are proving to outperform traditional models on every metric that matters, from brand equity to employee engagement. The SPX Purpose League gives the industry a space to share, learn, and lead this transformation.”
The SPX Purpose League is now live for registrations. Early members will receive updates, resources, and opportunities to contribute to the 2026 programme.
